My Sony DCR-HC20 will not work.?

I recently bought a charger for my Sony DCR-HC20. I had lost my charger for about a year or two. When I charged the battery and switch on the device, nothing is displayed. I can play the video he had taken before and can record sound but does not appear nothing when I try to take videos. I am sure that is the problem of the lenses, but how I can fix it?
