We have just passed the midpoint of 2006. A survey of leading department stores shows that children age 12 and then have different tastes and preferences when their favorite toys. The following are some that have been frequently mentioned.

1. Garfield and Friends (Volume 5)

Among children 5 to 8, the most popular toy is this collection of videos of the episodes of the family of creator Jim Davis'-favorite cartoon. This is not a surprise, as Garfield is the most widely syndicated comic strip character in the world. Volume Five is the final volume of the series and includes all seasons 1993-1994.

2. Strawberry Shortcake World of Friends

Another favorite from 5 to 8 years old video game is this charming 20th Century Fox account with Strawberry Shortcake and her new friends from around the world. The videois established in Paris, France, and is an effective vehicle for teaching children about the value of friendship.

3. My first sewing kit

Among children aged 7 to 12 years old, this kit Alex toymakers ranks as the most popular 2006.
